When the time came to leave the Billboard Magazine startup I was at and go back in-house as A&R at a major record company, I spoke with many labels but when Elektra Records offered it was over for me. Elektra was my dream, as a kid collecting and studying records, I would always take note of the company that was responsible, and so many of my influences came from there. The Cure, Bjork, Metallica, The Cars, The Doors, Jackson Browne, Brand Nubian, Pixies, Eagles, the list goes on and on. It was a privilege to put my stamp on its storied history of signings, and bonkers that I got to work with some of the very artists I grew up idolizing.
